Newscast Media -- After realizing that candidates have been suddenly avoiding him, Obama is believed to have told senior Democrats during a private meeting at the White House, they "may not want me" to campaign in their areas during the next three months.  The situation is indicative of the dramatic decline in Mr. Obama's fortunes.

On Monday, during his visit to Atlanta Georgia, Obama noticed that the Democratic candidate for governor was all of a sudden "unavailable" to meet the president with him, due to prior engagements in other parts of the state.  Bill White, former mayor of Houston, upon learning that Obama might make a stop in Houston on an upcoming visit next Monday, said he would not be able to meet Obama because his schedule is too tight to spare a moment for the man White once admired and looked up to.  White himself is running for the Texas governorship and is careful about giving the Republican opponents ammunition to use against him.

Obama addressed his waning popularity over the weekend in an interview, saying the only factor that could reverse this phenomenon would be a fall in the unemployment numbers. In assessing his performance, he gave himself an "incomplete" implying he still has a lot of loose ends to tie in order to be viewed favorably.

Obama is reported to have conceded during one lunch last week as he met with Democrats by saying, "You may not even want me to come to your district."  Obama also doesn't think his administration is being enough credit for handling the economic crisis.  He said, "But here’s the reason: we've gone through the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. No other depression comes close. When people have gone through that much trauma, people have every right to be scared, to be angry, to be frustrated. And I don't expect the American people to be satisfied when we're only half of the way back."

Democrats are fearful of losing the House in November, due to the dissatisfaction of their constituents.                  Add Comments>>
