Nancy Pelosi says she doesn't lose sleep over the midterms at all
by Joseph Ernest August 2, 2010
Newscast Media -- In a display of confidence, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said on This Week with Christiane Amanpour, "I'm not nervous at all. I never take anything for granted. And our agenda now is, we're not going back to the failed policies of the Bush administration. We're going forward."
However, the video below shows a nervous Nancy Pelosi as she seemed puzzled when her supporters turned against her.
In the interview, Amanpour asked Pelosi, "So what does it make you feel then, when the president's own spokesman said that you might lose the majority?" A defiant Pelosi answered, "With all due respect, I don't spend a whole lot of time thinking about what the president's employees say about one thing or another."
In reference to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, she continued to say, "So we feel very confident about where we are, whether that's well known to that gentleman or not."
Amanpour then asked, "What is it you can do for the people in this highly polarized situation?" To which Pelosi shot back, "First of all, what you define as a highly polarized situation is a very big difference of opinion, the Republicans are here for the special interests, we're here for the people's interests." Pelosi denied that Inter-party bickering was what it appeared to be. She said it was simply philosophical difference. Add Comments>>
