MP Galloway: I don't debate Israelis--exits debate at Oxford
by Joseph Earnest February 22, 2013
Newscast Media LONDON—During a debate at Oxford University, Respect Unity Coalition MP for Bradford West, George Galloway, exited the building upon learning that a student, Eylon Aslan-Levy, whom he was supposed to debate, was an Israeli citizen. Galloway said he was misled into participating and that he didn't debate Israelis. Below is the interchange and video of the dramatic debate that never was.
Levy: We wanted peace, we got war, we musn't make the same mistake again. So my first point, only a peace treaty can provide a framework for enduring peace and security. (interrupted...) I'm sorry Mr. Galloway... Galloway: You said we, are you an Israeli? Levy: I am an Israeli. Galloway: I don't debate with Israeli's. I've been misled. Audience member: Racism...racism Galloway: I don't recognize Israel and I don't debate with Israelis. (Walks out) Audience member/Levy: I am a human being. Galloway is known to be pro-Palestinian in his views. Add Comments>>
