America celebrates the world's biggest birthday party--

Newscast Media WASHINGTON—Americans will be celebrating independence from the British within the next 24 hours, and as always, the birth of this nation is the world's largest birthday party that reaches a crescendo with dance, music and fireworks.

However, a 4th of July party is not a party unless there is a Texas rendition of the same.  This year, Houston will be its annual lively outdoor festival that will feature star-spangled performances on the Freedom Stage in the Freedom over Texas annual celebration that takes place in downtown Houston.

WHEN:Friday, July 4, 2014 ... 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. 

WHERE: Sam Houston Park, Eleanor Tinsley Park, and along Allen Parkway 

KBR LIBERTY PARK - "SYMBOLS OF FREEDOM"

  • A reminder of the patriotic roots of the Fourth of July, KBR Liberty Park will showcase historical military artifacts from the National United States Armed Forces Museum including a U.S. M-60 tank, armored vehicles and military jeeps. All five military branches will be well represented.
  • Job recruitment from the Armed Services and Houston Fire & Police Departments.
  • Meet veterans from the National Sojourners, a group who supports all patriotic aims in Masonry. In addition, they will present “Building The Flag,” to educate attendees about the evolution of the American flag and provide a free photo booth.
  • The Museum of Military History and the Museum of Printing History will exhibit historical documents and artifacts that have shaped our nation’s history.

TICKETS: General Admission: $8 per person June 2 – midnight July 3, 2014 (children 5 and under free) Tickets may be purchased on-line prior to the event. July 4, tickets will be $10 online and at the gate admission booths. Food and Beverage are available for purchase by CASH, ATMs available on site.
