Newscast Media -- According to the Department of Homeland Security the Federal Aviation Agency's approval of a predator drone on the US-Mexico border is part of the comprehensive immigration reform that the Obama administration is pushing for.
Governor Rick Perry and Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson have also been pushing for an unmanned aircraft to patrol the border, and welcome the FFA's approval of the aircraft.
The drone project is being covered by the $600 million requested by Barack Obama who also says he intends to deploy 1,200 National Guard troops to the border as reinforcement. The cost of the unmanned aircraft is over $4 million and will be based at a Corpus Christi Naval base.
