Texas Senator Ted Cruz cruises to victory over Liberal Beto
by Joseph Earnest November 7, 2018
Newscast Media HOUSTON, Texas—Senator Ted Cruz won his re-election bid over Democrat candidate Beto O'Rourke by 51.2 percent to 48.1. In all, 3,524,443 Texans voted for Cruz while 3,310,401 voted for O'Rourke.
In his victory speech, Cruz said, "Tonight is a victory for the people of Texas. To everyone one of you, Heidi and I want to say thank you," Cruz told his supporters. "This election was a battle of ideas... At many of these events we would ask, how many of you were former Democrats, and we would see hands. People who had been dependent on government for basic food needs can now provide for themselves. I wanna take a moment also and thank my wife Heidi, who is my best friend," Cruz added, as he hugged his wife.
O'Rourke raised over $60 million, most of which came from Hollywood celebrities, but was unable to overcome the overwhelming Conservative support Cruz enjoyed, that catapulted him to his victory. Add Comments >>
