Newscast Media HOUSTON, TexasThe spokesperson of the Methodist Hospital in Houston George Kovacik said former President George H. W. Bush was in stable condition, but didn't know when he would be discharged from the hospital.

"He has a nagging cough and we have no idea when he will be released," Kovacik said. "They're not in any hurry, so they're just keeping him here, but there's really no change in his condition. He's stable and he's still here," Kovacik added.

Bush has been in and out of the hospital for treatment of the cough since last month. The highlight of last weekend for Papa Bush, was the Houston Texans 24-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans, a win that secured the Texans a spot in the NFL playoffs. The 88-year-old president is an avid fan of the Texans.

"He was keeping track of when kickoff was and we were following the game there for a little bit," his spokesman in Houston, Jim McGrath said. McGarth also said Bush was in good spirits.   Add Comments>>
