Uganda's presidential candidate Bobi Wine held hostage by Museveni's men
by Joseph Earnest January 15, 2021 Newscast Media KAMPALA, Uganda—Presidential candidate Bobi Wine also known as Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, is reportedly under siege by heavily armed troops under Uganda's dictator Yoweri Museveni's direction. The presidential and parliamentary elections were held January 14, and based on the UVote app and information by voters from the polls, Bobi Wine was apparently winning by a large percentage. The state-sponsored networks, however, indicated that Museveni was ahead.
On the morning of January 15, 2021, SkyNews and Bobi Wine indicated that Museveni's soldiers had encroached upon Bobi Wine's property and, according to tweets from Wine, he was being held hostage by the militia.
Below are the messages from Bobi Wine, indicating his life was in danger.
Several opposition members have been killed during this election cycle for supporting Bobi Wine, while other have been badly beaten and jailed. Currently, it is unknown whether Bobi Wine is in his compund or not.
