Conservatives embarrassed and silent about Zimmerman arrest
Newscast Media ORLANDO, Fla—George Zimmerman who achieved cult status and
considered by many as a hero after being acquitted for murdering an unarmed Black
teenager is making headlines again.
ABC news reported earlier that Zimmerman was arrested in Florida by the Seminole County
Sheriff’s Office at around 1 p.m. today after deputies responded to “disturbance” call.
Zimmerman was acquitted in July after murdering Trayvon Martin, and before during
and after his trial, Conservative media practitioners fiercely defended Zimmerman’s
actions, with the exception of Michael Savage who begged to differ.
Since his acquittal, Zimmerman has had several run-ins with the law including in
September when he was released without charges after his wife called 911
to say Zimmerman punched his father-in-law in the nose and threatened to shoot him
and his wife. In an interview, his wife said, “In my opinion, he feels more invincible.”
In regard to today’s arrest, Zimmerman will be transported and booked into the John
E. Polk Correctional Facility. His supporters are all of a sudden silent, out of
embarrassment for making him to be some sort of a hero earlier in the year, and are
slowly realizing he may not be the saint they portrayed him to be.
