MLK Jr. 50th anniversary: How far have we progressed in race relations?

Newscast Media WASHINGTON—It was 50 years ago on Aug. 28, 1968, that civil
rights leader Martin Luther King gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, that drew a
crowd of over 300,000 to the Washington D.C., in an effort to address the inequality
and discrimination faced by Blacks in this country.
